After globally unveiling the OnePlus 6 through a launch event in London yesterday, the Chinese manufacturer had held an exclusive launch event in India to debut the OnePlus 6 smartphone. The major attraction of the phone is overhaul improvement to the design compared to the predecessor models. It now sports a notched display design and features glass panels on its front and rear sides.
OnePlus 6 Specifications and Features
The OnePlus 6 measures 155.7 x 75.4 x 7.75mm and weighs 171 grams. The front and rear sides of the OnePlus 6 is well-protected as they feature Gorilla Glass 5 panels. The OP6 is the first phone from the company to come with a water-resistant chassis. The handset houses a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED screen that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen supports sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamut.
The Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the smartphone. The UFS 2.1 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants respectively feature 6 GB and 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. There is no microSD slot on the phone. It is driven by 3,300mh battery that carries support for 5V/4A Dash Charge 2.0 fast charging. It is preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system that is overlaid with a layer of OxygenOS UI.
The rear panel of the OnePlus 6 features a dual camera setup that includes an f/1.7 aperture Sony IMX519 16-megapixel primary sensor that has a pixel size of 1.22micron. It is equipped with features like Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization and DCAF. The main sensor is complemented by f/1.7 aperture Sony IMX370 20-megapixel secondary sensor that has a pixel size of 1micron. The dual cameras can shoot 4K videos in 60 fps as well as slow-motion videos of HD quality in 480 fps. The fixed focus 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 selfie camera present inside the notch of the phone has a pixel size of 1micron and carries support for EIS and Full HD video shooting.
The connectivity features of the OnePlus 6 include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, 2×2 MIMO, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack. The rear side of the OP6 features a fingerprint reader whereas the facial unlock function is also available on the phone for unlocking.
OnePlus 6 Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 6 will be exclusively available for buying through Amazon India starting from May 22. It can be availed in three colors like glossy Mirror Black, matte Midnight Black and limited-edition Silk White. As far as pricing is concerned, the 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 8 GB RAM variants are respectively priced at Rs. 34,999 and Rs. 39,999 in India. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on when India will be receiving the top model featuring 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage.
