The “flagship killer” OnePlus One which has been selling on an invite-only system till now will have an open sale in India on 10th February, 2015. There has been very high demand for this device and people have found it really difficult to get their hands on one. This is mainly due to their complex invite model where people had to subscribe to newsletters or play contests to get an invite. But on Tuesday one simply has to log on to Amazon at 10 am and add the phone to their cart. There will be a limited number of units available though so one may have to be quick while trying to purchase the phone. This is very similar to the flash sales held by Xiaomi. OnePlus is holding this sale after completing weeks in India and they claim to be very successful in those weeks.
The OnePlus One is a big competitor to the Xiaomi Mi4 but it has an advantage as the Mi4 lacks a LTE and is only available in 16GB. On the other hand, the OnePlus One is 4G enabled, comes with 64GB of storage and is priced at a steal of Rs. 21,999. It is also rumoured that the company is working on the successor of the One which will be known as the OnePlus Two. The Two is expected to be launched in Q2 or Q3 of 2015 and will run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with the company’s new Oxygen OS which is to be released soon.
The key specifications of the One are —
5.5 inch full HD display
2.5GHz Quad Core, Snapdragon 801 processor
3GB RAM
13 Megapixel rear camera, 5 Megapixel camera on the front
3100mAh power battery
