After constant refusals, it looks like OnePlus is finally coming out with the Silk White 16 GB variant of the popular OnePlus One in India. The OnePlus One was only available in the Sandstone Black 64 GB version till now. We expect that the 16 GB variant will be priced much below the current price of the 64 GB Sandstone Black which is priced at Rs. 21,999. Chances are, that it could be cheaper than the 16 GB Mi4 which is priced at Rs. 19,999.
The Chinese smartphone vendor made the announcement on the OnePlus forum and OnePlus India Facebook Page. As expected, the phone will be invite-only and will employ the flash sale model. Like the current Sandstone Black, the white version will be exclusively available only on Amazon India. To win invites for the first flash sale of the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One smartphone, the company announced a contest where users have to answer a question correctly in reply to the post on the forum or Facebook page, and fill out a short form with their name, address, and email details. Winners will then be chosen at random and the results will be announced by February 23.
For those who are interested in getting an invite, the question asked is, “What do cashews and the OnePlus One have in common?” The answer to that question is that the back cover on the Silk White version is made using the cashew nut. On the OnePlus One, this is supposed to provide a silky smooth, ‘baby skin’ feel.
The only difference in specs is the internal memory, while the Sandstone Black variant sports 64 GB of internal memory the Silk White variant tops out at 16 GB. To recap, the Silk White One sports a 5.5 inch Full HD display with the pixel density of 401 PPI. It is packed with 3GB of RAM and runs on a 2.5GHz, Snapdragon 800, Quad Core processor. It comes with 16 GB internal storage which is not expandable. With regards to camera, it has a 13 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front camera. The rear camera does HD video recording and the front camera is good for people who like to click self portraits. The battery has 3100 mAh power.
