OnePlus forayed into the television market last September with the premium Q-series. Now, the brand has launched two new affordable TV series in India. The latest offerings are dubbed as OnePlus TV U and TV Y. The former is a budget-centric offering while the latter is positioned below the Q-series. Since the last month, OnePlus had been teasing the features and specifications. Let’s take a look at the TVs below:
OnePlus TV U specifications:
The OnePlus TV U retains some of the premium features from the Q-series. The television sports a 55-inch screen bearing a 4K UDH resolution. The display offers features like Gamma Engine, 93 percent colour gamut, MEMC, noise resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. Design-wise, the OnePlus TV U is surrounded by thin bezels and offers a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. It flaunts a carbon fibre panel at the back just like the OnePlus TV Q-series. In terms of audio, the OnePlus TV U is equipped with 4 speakers comprising of two full range and two tweeters. Additionally, the audio is tuned by Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio and DTS-HD.
Software-wise, the OnePlus TV U runs on Android 9 Pie and comes with pre-installed apps like Oxygen Play, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Spotify, Google Play Store and more. The television also features built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Connectivity options include Chromecast, DLNA, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, three HDMI ports, Ethernet port, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. The TV comes with a Bluetooth remote with dedicated buttons for Prime Video, Netflix, Google Assistant and Oxygen Play.
OnePlus TV Y specifications:
The OnePlus TV Y is offered in 32 and 42-inch screen sizes. The former has a HD resolution while the latter features FHD panel. Both televisions also come with display features like 93 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, Gamma Engine and others found on the OnePlus TV U. The TVs come with slim bezels and offer 90 percent screen-o-body ratio. The OnePlus TV Y is equipped with two full-range speakers producing a 30W sound output.
The OnePlus TV Y also runs on Android 9 Pie. It comes with built-in Google Assistant, Chromecast and streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video etc. The televisions features the same connectivity options like the OnePlus TV U.
OnePlus TV U and TV Y-series pricing & availability:
The OnePlus TV U carries a price tag of Rs 49,999. The base variant of TV Y i.e. 32-inch is priced at Rs 12,999 while the 43-inch variant costs Rs 22,999. The former is already on sale from July 5th on Amazon. OnePlus is yet to announce the availability of the OnePlus TV U and TV Y 43-inch.
