All you Android users out there, rejoice! Browsing on your Android phone is already “up there” thanks to the flash support (on Froyo) – but are there an issue in having another browser option for your phone? No, right?
That is precisely why we are excited about the arrival of Opera Mobile on the platform – within a month. Opera has revealed on its website that they are all set to release Opera Mobile for Android phones -next month. The browser would be compatible with all Android versions and adds features like hardware acceleration (probably, the first on a mobile browser) and support for pinch to zoom.
With newer phones having thoroughly peppy hardware and some even boasting of accelerated graphics support, hardware acceleration on a browser is a extremely important addition. Opera Mobile also gets pinch to zoom support for the first time.
Until now, Opera Mobile and Opera Mini only supported two levels of zoom – a full page width version and a zoom to text version. Pinch to zoom on the other hand will surely enhance the browsing experience on Opera. This however has been around on other browsers for quite some time now.
