Even after being killed, Osama Bin Laden is still a security threat it seems. This time though, the risk is for your PC and Facebook accounts. Apparently, some smart hackers out there, in an attempt to cash in on the surge of Osama related stuff happening online have released a malware that affects Facebook accounts. The malware poses as a video which will supposedly show you the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Once you click on it, you are apparently redirected to a survey page.
It would have been ok if it was just limited to that. However, after you click the link, it turns your account in to a spambot of sorts and posts messages on the Facebook walls of your friends – thereby spreading the worm. The description of the link goes like this “Osama is dead, watch this exclusive CNN video which was censored by Obama Administration due to level of violence, a must watch. Leaked by Wikileaks”. The description is aided using an image purportedly of Osama Bin Laden’s body with a headshot wound.
If you happen to be an active Facebook user, beware of this one and stop being click happy at least for now!
