Panasonic has officially announced that it has added three new cameras to its lineup of mirrorless camera series. The newly launched models include the GX1, G5 and the top of the line GH3. The price range of the cameras ranges from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 99,990. Let’s take a look at each of these models in brief now.
We start with the GH3 which like we said, is the top of the line mirrorless camera that gets a re-engineered 16.05-megapixel Live MOS Sensor. The GH3 also gets Panasonics’s Venus Engine which is claimed to have above average ability to process both still and video signals simultaneously. As expected from a product of its price range, this one features a rugged magnesium alloy body which also happens to be splash proof and dust proof. The DMC-GH3’s gets a Contrast AF system in which the image sensor doubles as the AF sensor to resist any mechanical margin of error. This is claimed to be better than Phase Difference AF when focusing at small F-numbers.
The DMC GH3 will set you back by Rs. 99,990 for the body alone. While the Kit will cost you Rs 154,990 with 14140 mm lens.
Next up is the GX1 which features a 16.0-megapixel Live MOS Sensor as well as a 0.09 second AF speed which according to Panasonic has been achieved by reducing the detection time for focusing by the synchronization of the lens and the sensor at 120 fps. The DMC GX1 can capture videos in full HD. This one has been prized at Rs.34,990 with 1442 mm lens.
The last one to be announced is the DMC G5 which again gets the a 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor as well as the Venus Engine. The DMC-G5 features two types of noise reduction: Multiprocess Noise Reduction, which optimizes the noise reduction in the bright parts of the image for both single and burst shooting, and 3D Noise Reduction, which applies optimal noise reduction by differentiating the edges and the smooth parts of the image in single shots.
The camera is also claimed to have the world’s fastest level of auto focusing, called Light Speed AF which is the same as the one found on the other two aforementioned models. The DMC-G5 records high-resolution Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p (NTSC)/50p (PAL) videos with 28 Mbps videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4/H.264) format. Price: Rs. 37,990 with 1442 mm, Rs. 43,990 with 1442 and 45150 mm lens.
