Samsung has been great, when it comes to reading and understanding the needs of the Indian market. So much so that it has been striking at the heart of Nokia and taking critical market share away from them in the second largest cellular market in the world after China.
Now Samsung has set its eyes on the building up a new niche, i.e. the dual SIM smartphone market and has all but captured it with a slew of dual SIM smartphone devices which includes the likes of Galaxy Y Duos and the Star Duos.
Now Samsung has added one of its best selling budget smartphone, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy Ace to its dual SIM smartphone range. The Galaxy Ace Duos is a dual SIM active device which allows you to be active on both the numbers at the same time. This effectively means that once you are on a call on the first SIM and receive a call on the second one, the phone will automatically route the call on the second SIM and vice-versa so that you will not miss any calls on the other SIM.
The Galaxy Ace Duos’ other features include:
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- 832MHz processor
- 3GB Internal memory
- 13,000 mAh battery with a talk time of 6.5 hrs on 3G and 16hrs on 2G
- 5MP AF Camera
The device is available for a MRP of Rs. 15,090 in retail stores.
It’s interesting to note how Samsung has not only launched dual SIM feature phones but added smartphones to the fray as well. It shows how well they have understood the Indian market and are cashing in on the same. Whereas, when you look at Nokia which once had a huge market share here has failed to evolve in the recent times and has ended up losing most of its share to Samsung.
