After several weeks of leaks, Samsung has today taken off curtains from the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones. After the Galaxy A8 and A8+, the newly unveiled Galaxy A6 are the second Galaxy A series phones with Infinity Display design. Both the mid-range smartphones have been built to provide users with impressive photography experience.
Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ Specifications and Features
The Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ are identical looking smartphones. These smartphones are equipped with metallic chassis with a unique looking u-shaped antenna lining present at the top and bottom portions of the back panel. The Galaxy A6 measures 149.9 x 70.8 x 7.7mm whereas the dimensions of the bigger A6+ are 160.2 x 75.7 x 7.9mm. These smartphones cane be availed in colors like Blue, Black and Gold.
The Galaxy A6 has a 5.65-inch S-AMOLED display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels whereas the Galaxy A6+ has a 6-inch S-AMOLED screen that offers FHD+ resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels. Since these smartphones are equipped Infinity Display design, their screens offer an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.
The Exynos 7 series chipset that includes a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor drives the 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants of the Galaxy A6. These variants respectively feature 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A6+ is fueled by 1.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset which is assisted by 4 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 64 GB. For more storage, users can add a microSD card to the external storage on both phones. The Galaxy A6 has 3,000mAh battery whereas the larger sibling is packed with 3,500mAh battery.
The Galaxy A6 features has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.6 aperture on its rear. It has a selfie camera of 16-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture.
On the other side, the Galaxy A6+ has a dual camera setup on its back. It comprises of f/1.6 aperture 16-megapixel primary sensor that is assisted f/1.9 aperture 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The selfie snapper of 24-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture has been placed on the frontside of the A6+. The front and rear cameras on the Galaxy A6 duo feature LED flash. For enhanced photo-shooting experience, the A6 and A6+ includes features like Live Bokeh and Background Blur Shape.
The Galaxy A6 duo are preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo that is overlaid with Samsung Experience 9.0 UI. For security, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ are fitted with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The front cameras on both phones carry support for face unlock.
Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ Pricing and Availability
The base model of the Galaxy A6 carries a pricing of Rs. 21,990 and its 64 GB edition can be availed by spending Rs. 22,990. The Galaxy A6+ has a hefty price tag of Rs. 25,990.
The sales of the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will begin from May 22 through multiple online platforms such as Samsung India e-store, Paytm Mall and Amazon India. The A6 duo will be also available at offline stores.
