Samsung has launched the premium phone Galaxy A7 in India at Rs. 30,499. The phone had been launched globally last month and is only available in India now. The handset can be purchased from Samsung’s online store and is available in black, white and gold colours with only the white version being in stock. The launch of Samsung Galaxy A7 follows the release of similar phones like the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5. With these phones Samsung has made an effort to change its design language from plastic to metal design. The Galaxy A7 sits above the A3 and A5 in company’s portfolio.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a 5.5-inch HD (720p) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat)-based TouchWiz UI with an assured upgrade to Android 5.0. However at this price, we did expect a Full HD display from Samsung. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage with microSD card support up to 64GB. The smartphone is powered by a 2,600mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy A7 features a 13 MP primary camera along with a 5 MP secondary camera. Samsung has also included some camera add-ons likewide-angle selfie, rear-cam selfie and beauty face.
Other unique features of Samsung Galaxy A7 are Ultra Power Saving Mode, changeable themes, private mode and multi screen.Samsung will offer the Galaxy A7 in two variants. The 4G model will run on the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor (1.5GHz quad-core + 1GHz quad-core). The 3G model will be powered by Samsung’s own Octa-core Exynos processor.
Samsung was recently in news with reports stating that it is no longer the top player in Indian Smartphone market with Micromax having overtaken the Korean manufacturer with its arsenal of budget friendly smartphones. Recently, Samsung has also released a budget phone Samsung Galaxy J1 in an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India.
