Multiple sources have revealed leaked images and renders of the Galaxy A (2018) phones in the past few months. Today, a hands-on video of the rumored Galaxy A8+ (2018) that has a model number of SM-A730 has appeared on YouTube to reveal its design and specifications.
The above video shows that the Galaxy A8+ (2018) features Infinity Display like the Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagship phones. However, unlike the Galaxy S8 duo, the A8+ (2018) features thicker bezels above and below the display. The top bezel features dual front-facing cameras and the fingerprint scanner is placed below the rear-mounted camera.
The Galaxy A8+ (2018) has a 3D glass panel on its back panel. The display is tucked under a 2.5D curved glass. The IP68 certified chassis of the phone features a metallic chassis. It is equipped with a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The hands-on video of the Galaxy A8+ (2018) reveals that it has a 6-inch S-AMOLED display that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2,220 x 1,080 pixels. It is speculated to carry support for 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
The Exynos 7885 chipset powers the Galaxy A8+ (2018) along with 6 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 64 GB and it carries support for up to 256 GB of microSD card on its external storage. Recent reports have revealed that the handset will be available in single-SIM and dual-SIM options in different markets. A 3,500mAh battery that is enabled with fast charging feature powers the A8+ (2018).
It has a f/1.7 aperture 16-megapixel rear camera. The dual selfie snapper houses a f/1.9 aperture 16-megapixel fixed focus sensor and a f/1.9 aperture 8-megapixel sensor. Since it is equipped NFC and MST chips, users of Galaxy A8+ (2018) will be able to perform transactions through Samsung Pay. It also carries support for Bixby AI.
As far as the Galaxy A8 (2018) is concerned, recent rumors have claimed that it will be housing a 5.7-inch Infinity Display, 4 GB of RAM and a smaller battery of 3,200mAh capacity. The rest of the specs of Galaxy A8 (2018) are expected to be same as the larger A8+ (2018)
It is expected to arrive in some markets with $600 pricing within this month. However, some reports also claim that the 2018 Galaxy A8 phones are likely to get unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 at Las Vegas in January.
