The Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) mid-range smartphone was launched today in India. It has been unveiled as a successor for the Galaxy On7 Prime (2017). Compared to the predecessor model, it comes with the same display, chipset, rear camera and battery. However, the newer model includes an improved selfie camera along with new features such as Samsung Mall and Samsung Pay Mini.

The Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) has a full HD resolution supporting screen of 5.5 inches. The Exynos 7870 chipset that includes a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor drives the smartphone. It is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery. It comes in models like 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. For additional storage, the smartphone features a microSD card slot.
The back panel of the phone houses an f/1.9 aperture 13-megapixel camera that is enabled with autofocus and LED flash. The same camera sensor is present at the front, but it lacks autofocus and LED flash. The fingerprint scanner of the phone is placed under the home button. The chin of the device also features hardware capacitive keys. The handset is preloaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat that has a layer of Samsung Experience 8.5 UI on top of it.
The Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) supports UPI and mobile wallet transactions through Samsung Pay Mini. It comes loaded with an image search app called Samsung Mall that lets users to snap a photo of a product or use an image of a product saved in the gallery to search for it across different online shopping sites. The universal cart feature allows users to add products to a single cart without visiting different e-commerce sites individually. The All-in-one Shopping feature presents users with a single interface to purchase products from different shopping sites.
It is packed with usual connectivity features like 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi and 4G VoLTE. As far as the design of the phone is concerned, it sports a metal unibody chassis that measures 151.7 x 75 x 8mm and its weight is 185 grams. It is available in two colors like Gold and Black.
Amazon India and Samsung Shop are exclusively selling the 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants of the Galaxy On7 Prime (2018) with respective price tags of Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 14,990. The sales of the smartphone will begin on 20th January. Users of Jio Money can take advantage of a cashback of Rs. 2,000. To avail the cashback, users will have to do a recharge of Rs. 299 over a period of 24 months. Buying it through Amazon Pay will bring 20 percent cashback. HDFC credit card users can avail 10 percent cashback. The smartphone is also available on the retailer site through no-cost EMI scheme.
