Samsung’s Galaxy S4, the latest flagship smartphone from the Korean giant has been around for quite some time now. In fact, it is been for enough time already for many to think about its possible successor – the now mythical Galaxy S5 which might be under development right now. While we are quite far from seeing even leaked prototypes a bunch of impatient folks decided to tie up with a 3D renderer and decided to mock up a video showcasing the possible features on a Galaxy S5. Note that this is just a concept video – based on pure imagination. This is not a leaked promotional video. But it could be quite plausible that the actual Galaxy S5 might turn out quite similar to the phone showcased in this video.
The video predicts that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would get a major design change. Not only would the phone e curved, it would also be able to flex its body by as much as 30 degrees. This is a step forward from its current curved display offering – the Galaxy Round. The 5 inch display would also get a resolution bump from the current full HD panel to a 2K HD panel which translates to 2560*1440 pixels. Another prediction is the possibility of Samsung moving on to an aluminium body – and discarding the plastic covers that we have been so used to on the Galaxy series. The camera resolution too would be bumped up to 16 megapixels, with the capability to capture videos on 4K resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the Snapdragon 800 chip can already do 4K videos so that doesn’t come as a surprise to me.
The video also predicts that Samsung is likely to follow Apples path and get the phone running with a 64 bit processor. That said, there is no inkling of any 64 bit chip from Qualcomm – Samsung’s chief processor partner as of now. The fastest chip they have now is the just announced Snapdragon 805 which still is a 32 bit. Samsung could use its own Octa Core Exynos chips, though if they really wish to go Octa Core.
Take a look at the well made video. Do you think the Galaxy S5 would be radically different from this concept?
