So the much rumored Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini has been finally unveiled by Samsung at an event in Germany. Though the device carries a Galaxy SIII tag, it isn’t anywhere close to the hardware beast it was expected to be and disappointingly is just another mid range device by Samsung.
Here are the official specs of the Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini:
- 4 inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 800×480
- 1GHz dual core processor
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- 5MP camera with LED Flash
- 8 / 16 GB Internal memory
- 1GB RAM
- MicroSD upto 32GB
- Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS / GLONASS and WiFi
- 1500 mAh battery
Overall the Galaxy SIII Mini is just a mere shadow of the Galaxy SIII and bears a similarity to the device only limited to the name and design. The only stand out feature here would be the fact that it runs on Jelly Bean, the rest of the features are just academic.
There were a lot of expectations with a new handset carrying the Galaxy SIII branding, but Samsung has come up with a very mediocre specc’ed device for the brand which might affect. But then the device surely highlights Samsung’s strategy of milking the brand “Galaxy SIII” further here.
