Countering the fact that most Windows Phone 7 devices were outed with carrier tieups, the manufacturers are catching up with apps to help network connectivity of unlocked phones that would be used with various carriers. HTC and LG apparently already have a fix out in the market and Samsung is now catching up with its solution with an update to its Samsung Zone app.
That update has hit today (v1.9) and from early reports seems to work quite well, even allowing MMS on new networks. The app also goes pretty far in reminding you that if you are currently in a contract with a carrier this tool will not work, so be warned. – source
