What comes to your mind when we say a Bluetooth Headset? A black wearable device made of plastic struggling to adjust itself, uncomfortable earbuds or the pain which one needs to go through in setting up your headset with other devices like your mobile phones and laptops? Not to mention the weird looks you get from everyone around you.
Samsung has decided to change this clumsy image of bluetooth headsets by its all new stylish gear “Samsung Gear Circle” which is priced for Rs. 5,599 in India. The new gear which is to be worn around neck is called ‘necklet’ and serves no less than a useful accessory. It is available in 3 colours – The two basic ones are Black & white and the other one is a Bluish- Black with a metallic shine, very much reflecting the company’s colours.
The Gear Circle pairs along with your Samsung Smartwatch as well as your Samsung Phone. The only condition while pairing up with a Samsung Phone is that it should be running on a Android version 4.2.2 and above. Once paired, it lets you to listen to music, answer calls and also allows you to give voice commands through S Voice.
The Gear circle comes with a unique magnetic clasp by the earbuds which will secure it around your neck firmly and pause any media, if it is playing. If you receive a call in the meanwhile, separating the earbuds will automatically answer the call cutting out the need to reach out for the phone or to bring your smartwatch near your face. It also has a different method of notifying you and it does so by giving out a gentle vibration whenever there is a incoming call, or any social notifications in case it’s paired to phones. Another unique feature which the Samsung Gear Circle has is Text-To-Speech notifications (TTS). Whenever one receives a message or any notification from social media apps, the Gear Circle will speak out the entire text for you.
The Gear Circle comes with magnetic touch sensors for volume control. It comes along with a microUSB connector for charging, Samsung has claimed it will have 11 hours of talk time. It supports both Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi connectivity. The device is also made to be splash & sweat resistant by the p2i nano coating. Well, we were impressed by the device and could not really find any shortcomings. But, the question to think on is – Is the Indian audience is willing to pay Rs. 5,599 for a bluetooth headset as it is also a stylish necklet?
