After announcing a 2-in-1 notebook last month, Smartron has announced its first mobile device called the t.phone in India. The device was launched by the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar in an event held at Hyderabad today. The smartphone, just like the convertible laptop, will be sold both on Smartron’s website as well as Gadgets360 portal, which is a home to devices like the Obi SF1. The t.phone will be available in four different colors, namely: violet, blue, gray and red for a price of INR 22,999.
In terms of pure specifications, you get a 55.5-inchdisplay with a 1080P resolution. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 to ensure that your display does not crack away at the first fall. The phone is powered by last year’s flagship chipset, in the form of Snapdragon 810, which is an Octa-Core processor.
There is 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage as well as a slot for microSD expansion, which makes the phone a dream for media consumption. t.phone features a Hybrid Dual SIM as well as Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Both, the front and rear cameras have f/2.0 aperture, though the front-facing sensor is 4MP while the rear one is 13MP. There is support for LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi and all the other usual connectivities. On the battery front, the device rocks a 3000 mAh unit and has Qualcomm’s Quick Charge in there. As far as the launch dates go, you will have to be a little patient as the phone would not be available until early June.
