All right, after much speculation, it is finally here. Sony Ericsson India has just confirmed on its official Facebook page that the Android 2.1 update for its Xperia X10 series of phones is being rolled out. As for when it will be available in India, well, this is what they had to say:
“For India, we will start with the Xperia™ X10 mini pro update this week followed by X10 and X10 mini the coming week.”
Honestly, we think the folks might have just missed the bus with most Android users now thinking in terms of 2.2 rather than 2.1, but still, as the wise people (who clearly were not too much into cutting-edge tech) said, better late than never. What also makes us eager to try out the update is the fact that, Sony Ericsson had done a fair bit of tweaking with its skin over, the traditional boring Android interface, especially as regards social networking and multimedia (timescape and mediascape), so we are obviously interested in finding out if any further tweaks are being made to it through the update.
More when we manage to update our devices – incidentally, you can “look for the update on your phones or check for the update at www.sonyericsson.com/update.”
