How to make an already sexy handset even more hotter? Well learn it from Sony Ericsson who has just pepped up its Xperia Arc smartphone with a bump in the processing department. While it is still not a Samsung Galaxy S II beater, the speed bump from the older 1 Ghz processor to the new 1.4 Ghz one is quite welcome. The phone was revealed at the ongoing Sony Ericsson press event at the IFA Conference at Berlin, Germany earlier today.
If you were however looking for more dramatic updates, well please excuse for now. Most other features on the device remain unchanged – including the screen resolution and the megapixel count on the rear camera. The RAM remains 512 MB which looks dated when you have the 1 GB toting Galaxy S II selling like hot cakes. But hey, since this looks like a mid-cycle update, most of us should be content with this one for now. As for the OS, well this one runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread – the latest version available as of today.
Let’s hope Sony Ericsson does have some further aces up its sleeve. A real svelte, monster of a phone that could be comparable to the likes of the GaLaxy S II or the HTC Sensation. That’s what we all are hoping for. C’mon SonyEricsson, we know you can do this.
As for the Arc S, this one should be around on sale by October this year. Sounds good, we say! Lets all hope Sony Ericsson doesn’t bump up the price up too on this new variant.
