Sony Ericsson seems to be quite buoyant about its Android prospects of the future. Even though we have almost two months left for the MWC to kick off at Barcelona, Spain the company is looking forward to its event there. Sony Ericsson has traditionally held an event usually a day before the MWC kicks off. It is at this event that they mostly show off their new devices. As the norm is, they are likely to show off a bunch of new handsets there next year too. In a sort of confirmation regarding this, they have already issued invites to people for the event scheduled for 13 February 2011. It also clearly states that they would be showing off the new members of the Xperia family at the event.
While all this sounds remarkably good, Sony Ericsson has in the past mostly ruined the expectations set at the time of the announcements by either delaying a much anticipated product or by not offering timely updates to the phones. Remember the experience with the Xperia X10 and the X8?
Anyway, as of now, there is no word as to what type of devices we would be seeing at the MWC. That said, with the PlayStation phone being in the news for the past few weeks, we can’t help buy wonder if that would be making its debut at the event.
