Sony India is hoping to get the bottom of the pyramid with its Vaio E (EA & EC). Until now the only presence Sony made in the notebook market was in the price range over Rs 40000. But that’s changing with the sub Rs 40000 Vaio E series that the Size Zero actress Kareena Kapoor (pics in the gallery) is promoting aggressively. The company plans to spend Rs 20 crores to push the ‘Go Vivid’ campaign in India and hopes to capture 20% of the laptop market this year.
The Vaio E comes in 14″, 15.5″ & 17.3″ versions and you can choose between Intel Core i3 and i5 offerings (and a P6000 mobile processor). We quite liked the finish of the body (looks better than the Lenovo Edge) and its always great to have some color choice. The Vaio E comes in matte/glossy black, matte/glossy white, glossy Blue, glossy pink & glossy green. Also on offer is HD output, 3 USB ports (all together on the right side, bad) and a excellent Isolated keyboard. Pricing starts at Rs 34990 and goes right up-till Rs 57990.
