Not too long ago, on one of our podcasts, Annkur had actually expressed the hope that console manufacturers would combine a television display with a console. Well, he would be delighted with the just-released Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300 which is not just a proper Bravia LCD capable of 720p rendition but also houses a PlayStation 2 (PS2) console in its base. Yes, we can hear cynical mutterings from hardcore gamers that the PS2 is outdated an past its sell-by date but being the sentimental sort, we are just delighted with the concept and the idea.
Just for the record, the TV also comes with four HDMI ports, which means that you can plug your PS3 into it as well. Of course, the existence of the PS2 means that you can also play DVDs on it. The television has been released in the UK for £200, which is not really that bad a deal for those wanting to get their first taste of console gaming without buying too many gadgets or spending way too much. Now, all we want is a massive Full HD 3D TV with an inbuilt PS3 or Xbox 360! Do you hear us, Santa?
Interesting.. If Santa hears you please tell him I need that kind of gadget too.
Of course I will! Goes without saying.
