As per expectations, the Sony Xperia Neo L is finally available in the Indian markets in the fourth week of July at a less than expected price of Rs. 17,800. The Xperia Neo L comes with a 1.5 yrs manufacturer warranty and is currently available in black and white colors.
The Neo L is a successor to the Neo & the Neo V, a mid-range device with 4 inch TFT display and powered by Android 4.0 ICS. It comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front camera and is expandable up to 32 GB.
The internal specs on the device include 512MB RAM, a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of inbuilt storage of which only 301MB is accessible to the user. The connectivity options include support for 3G, Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth. It has a 1500mAh battery which is slated to provide 7.5 hrs of talk time.
Sony Mobiles are off late releasing a lot of smartphones in the mid range segment which includes the likes of Sony Xperia Go a rugged smartphone, along with others like Xperia P and Sola which were also released in May this year.
Although, it’s clear that Sony is trying to compete with Samsung here on the price front with so many devices priced in the mid range segment, but at the same time this might confuse the consumers as the recall for these devices might go down. Sony needs a clear leader in the mid-range category with the other models revolving around the same, rather than cannibalizing each other.
