We’ve seen a lot of smartphones being announced recently, be it at the CES or exclusive events. But, let’s talk about the wearable devices by Sony. Ever since their announcements at the IFA 2014, these devices have caught a lot of attention. So, Sony has finally unveiled the SmartWatch 3 and the SmartBand Talk wearables in India. These devices are now listed on the official website of Sony with pricing.
Sony SmartWatch 3 is available for INR 19,900 on the official website. It is a 1.6” TFT LCD capacitive touch screen display device with resolution of 320*320 pixels. This unit is clocked at 1.2GHz. The processor is coupled with a 512MB of RAM space and 4GB of internal storage memory. Sony SmartWatch 3 runs on Android Wear operating system designed for smartwatches. Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. The device is also equipped with sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass. Powered by a 420mAh battery, Sony claims that SmartWatch 3 can be used up to 2 days considering general use and up to 4 days on standby. Thankfully, the Sony SmartWatch 3 comes with a IP68 certification which proves the watch being water and dust resistant.
On the other hand, Sony SmartBand Talk is designed to be always-ON giving the users notifications, life-log activity and time at a glance. SmartBand sports a 1.4” curved e-ink display with resolution of 296*128 pixels. This e-ink nature of the display means that the device doesn’t use any power units when the display is static. It is equipped by a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor. SmartBand Talk is also studded with in-built microphone and speaker claiming HD voice support. Connectivity features are Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Also, the much necessary sensors like Accelerometer and Altimeter are featured in the Sony SmartBand Talk. Powered by a 65mAh battery unit, it is said to last up to 3 days on standby and for 1 hour of talk time. It is offered at INR 12,990.
Although, these devices are visible on Sony’s website there are no exact details on the availability of these devices in India. Also, there isn’t any such news on their availability on third party online stores either.
