Sony has formally launched its new flagship phone i.e Xperia Z4 after weeks of leaks and rumors. The device was made public on the company’s Japanese website mentioning the specs of the new flagship. As of now, there is no announcement of its compact version being launched. The phone is a successor of the Xperia Z3 but till now has been announced only in Japan.
The Z4 retains more of its signature look like of the Z3 with minor tweaks in design and the hardware. The Z4 is a slightly thinner device with 6.9mm profile and metal frame running around the sides. The corners are built with resin to provide strength and sturdiness to the device. The entire phone also has two layer coating to retain the overall shine of Sony’s new flagship.
The phone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop update out of the box. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 3 GB RAM. Also, it has a whooping 20.7 megapixels rear camera and the front facing camera of 5 megapixels with wide-angle lens. The user will get 32 GB of internal storage which then can be expanded upto 128 GB.
Sony’s Xperia range has always been known for its capacity of being water-and-dust resistant and the Z4 is no exception in the series. The new flagship also comes with an IP6X dustproof rating, and is certified IPX5 and IPX8 as well which means it can totally stay submerged in water for an indefinite amount of time. The phone also comes with a waterproof USB port, so there’s need for sealed caps.
As of yet, the smartphone maker has not announced any launch date for its international launch. However, if you’re willing to buy a flagship which will be value for money, you can go for Samsung’s Galaxy S6. The phone is already launched in India and is available for Rs. 60,000 approx.
