Research firm Strategy Analytics in their latest report has said that the next few years would turn out to be good ones for phone makers Samsung and Nokia. The report states that Samsung would cement its position as the worlds second largest handset maker. Nokia too, thanks to its alliance with Microsoft will regain lost ground and is expected to gain 10% of its lost market share in the US. Samsung on the other hand will increase its share to 21% over the next four years.
Samsung would leverage its strength with Android and would also gain from the Nokia – Microsoft partnership in the long run, the report adds. That said, it would be interesting to see how the partnership between Nokia and Microsoft actually affects the worldwide smartphones scene in the next few years. You know how wrong some of these reports might turn out to be!
