LG has its first tablet in the US, selling under the T-Mobile brand name ‘G Slate’. And now the same has arrived in UK as the LG Optimus Pad. Optimus Pad is a premium tablet with the pricing at £799 on Carephone warehouse. This translates to $1300+. The only claim to fame for Optimus Pad is the 3D capability. Apparently the LG Optimus Pad can shoot full HD videos from its 5MP lens and also record 3D videos.
OptimusPad packs in the most popular dual-core chip, the NVIDIA Tegra 2 in it. The 8.9″ screen tablet runs Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb and we believe it has a few more upgrades to get before it really flies. While Samsung is pushing its lineup as the ‘Galaxy’, LG has its own Optimus series. The Galaxy S2 from Samsung goes head on with a few LG offerings like the Optimus 2x and Optimus Black. The Android race is on!
