NVIDIA has sure made an impact with its Tegra 2 offering, and the real impact of the same was seen at CES 2011. Bringing dual-core love to handhelds, the Tegra 2 has surely upped the industry expectations for performance from handhelds. And while the world figures how mobile devices will sustain a dual-core processor, super cameras with LED flash lights and numerous sensors, the rumors of a quad-core Tegra 3 is already being heard! MWC is NVIDIA’s favourite destination for making big announcements, and if rumors are to be believed, the Tegra 3 would be announced at MWC 2011 itself!
NVIDIA isn’t speaking anything about plans of Tegra 3@MWC yet, and all we know about is a lot of Tegra 2 devices coming out in Q1 and Q2 2011 (and we sure expect the momentum to increase until Q4). There is a perception that showing off Tegra 3 now would affect the Tegra 2 rollout, but I would differ here. NVIDIA might well show its Tegra 3 / Quad-Core plans at MWC and put no date to its availability (just like Project Denver). MWC is an excellent platform to take a look at whats coming up. For now, its wait and watch!
