Microsoft has just released the new Black Xbox 360 in India. The “sleeker, smaller, quieter, designed with built in WI-FI” and most importantly, with a dedicate Kinect, console is now finally available in Indian stores at an estimated retail price of Rs 21,990. That might strike some as being a tad on the high side, given the fact that the Xbox 360 Arcade retails for Rs 12,990, but on the flip side one might consider that the new Black Xbox 360 not only does look a lot (and we mean A LOT) better than its utterly grey predecessor, but also packs in some very hefty extras – an internal 250 GB hard drive (the Arcade comes with just a 256 MB memory unit and those Xbox games need SPACE), five USB ports with one dedicated Kinect port, inbuilt Wi-Fi, an Xbox 360 headset and wireless controller, and onboard optical digital audio. Of course, we like the dedicated Kinect port the mostest. Ahhh…and the shade of black.
Just how well it does in terms of performance and noise will be revealed when we get our unit. Until then, we are busy staring. Your move, Sony!
Looks good! I’m ready to put it to the test, although I have always been a Sony type of guy.
