We had been seeing it in the market for a few days and now we have official confirmation – Samsung has released the successor of the highly successful Wave handset in the Indian market. The Wave II does not have the breathtaking Super AMOLED display that made the original Wave stand out from the cell mainstream, but still cuts a highly respectable figure in the specs department. It has a larger 3.7 inch display, an aluminum body, 2 GB internal memory (expandable to 32 GB using a card), 5 MP camera capable of HD video recording, and of course, Samsung’s Bada OS and TouchWiz 3.0 interface, complete with widgets.
The release does not tell us whether the phone runs the new version (1.2) of Bada OS, but even without it, these are pretty decent specs and a unusually sleek body – all for Rs 20,990 (Note, thats the Samsung MRP, it retails for roughly Rs 17000 in the real world). Just how well it performs is something we will find out when we get our hands on a unit. Which should hopefully be soon.
