While we ponder over the sales of Windows Phone 7 devices and the dry spell in launches, HTC has rolled out another Windows Phone 7 handset and this time its headed to Verizon Wireless. Microsoft rolled out WP7 last year, but none of the announced handsets were selling on the largest carrier in US, i.e. Verizon. HTC Trophy fills that gap.
The Trophy isn’t the HTC phone with a 16MP shooter that we were teased with, but its a 3.8″ screen with a 5MP camera. The pricing is similarly a modest $149 (less $50 rebate). Other features are pretty much standard, as seen in WP7 devices, a GHz processor, 16GB internal storage, 720p Video recording & WiFi ‘n’. This one is no LTE device and Verizon has got the first WP7 device with just 3G on board. Some may call it just a casual launch, but for Microsoft it sure counts to be on Verizon for now.
The Trophy would go on sale online on 26th May and in stores form June 2. Are you getting a Windows Phone 7 or waiting for some more software updates?
