VIA had promised that they would soon be coming out with some low-budget Android-based tablets. Well, the company has already put up a gallery on their website, and it looks like it is not just one tablet they have planned there seem to be quite a few of them. While they look like photoframes to me, they can certainly do a little more with Android.
The tablets are very identical from the earlier demos, looks like they have a generic touchscreen and will have a complete web features with optimized online multimedia features. While they are not expected to be very powerful it is true that these tablets would be a cost effective solution.
The tablets are based on the WonderMedia PRIZM SoC, and we wonder what price range this thing will compete at, given that there are a number of Android tablets already out there. However, stay in touch and we will let you know more as soon as we get the details.
