Vivo V7+ selfie-centric smartphone was unveiled today through a launch event in Mumbai. It is the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 450 chipset. However, the major attractions of the V7+ are its full-screen display and a stellar 24-megapixel front-facing camera. Design and Display
The Vivo V7+ has a plastic body that has a slim profile of 7.7mm and it weighs 160 grams. It comes in colors like Matte Black and Champagne Gold. The u-type antenna lines are placed on the top and bottom edges of the rear panel of V7+. The fingerprint scanner is positioned on the backside of the phone.
Vivo V7+ has a FullView display that measures 5.99 inches and supports an aspect ratio of 18:5. In comparison with traditional smartphones, the top and bottom bezels are reduced by 44 percent and 47 percent respectively on the Vivo V7+. With super-slim side bezels of 2.15mm, its display offers a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4 percent.
Cameras and Music
The Vivo V7+ is flanked with an industry first 24-megapixel ‘Moonlight’ selfie camera. The Chinese firm has used a customized 1/2.78 sensor that is equipped with f/2.0 aperture. Face Beauty can enhance the features of the face and capture selfies with rich details. The Portrait Mode can be used to snap selfies with bokeh effect.
The face beautifying feature is also available while shooting videos and live streaming on social sites. The front camera also brings a new feature called Face Access that can be used for unlocking the phone by scanning the face.
The rear panel of the Vivo V7+ has a f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel camera. It is equipped with PDAF and LED flash. It is capable of shooting Ultra HD 64-megapixel photos and impressive shots in darker conditions.
The Vivo V7+ has a 3.5mm audio jack and for an amazing audio experience, the handset features an AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip. The presence of this chip enables the V7+ to play music according to different scenarios and moods.
Performance and Other Features
Featuring a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor and Adreno 506 graphics, the Snapdragon 450 present under the hood of the V7+ consumes 25 percent low battery power and produces 25 percent better CPU and graphics performance. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM.
The native storage available on the V7+ is 64 GB. It has a dedicated microSD card slot besides the two slots for using SIM cards. It is packed with a 3,225 mAh battery. Other features of the V7+ include 4G VoLTE, v4.2 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The FunTouch OS 3.2 is modified version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat and comes preloaded on the V7+. It brings Smart Split 3.0 feature for two apps on the screen. Game Mode lets users to enjoy games without any disturbance from incoming calls and messages. App Clone is another handy feature that lets users to run two instances of various apps for accessing different accounts.
Pricing and Release Date
The Vivo V7+ pre-orders will begin in India on Sept. 7 through online retailers like Flipkart and Amazon. It can be availed with a pricing of Rs. 21,990. The Chinese firm will begin its first sale on Sept. 15. The company is also offering free screen replacement service for V7+ buyers.
