Vivo has officially launched the Vivo V9 as its upper mid-range phone through an unveil event in Mumbai, India. The handset has arrived to replace the Vivo V7 smartphone which was the company’s first full screen design smartphone for India. With the arrival of the Vivo V9, the company has signed up the “Mr. Perfectionist” actor – Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador of the company.
Vivo V9 Specs and Features
The most striking feature of the Vivo V9 is its display which looks quite similar to the iPhone X. The V9 is equipped with 6.3-inch Full View 2.0 Display that is surrounded by thin-sized bezels of 1.75mm. The display offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent. It is shielded by a 2.5D curved glass by Corning. The dimensions of the Vivo V9 are 158.41 x 75.03 x 7.89mm and it weighs 150 grams. The handset features a metal unibody design with glossy finish on its rear. It appears slimmer as its edges are curved.
The Snapdragon 626 chipset is present under the hood of the Vivo V9 that features an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.2 GHz. The chipset is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 64 GB and more additional storage it features a microSD card slot. It includes a 3,260mAh battery. Vivo has not included support for fast charging on the device.
It has an f/2.0 aperture 24-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset is dubbed as “AI Selfie” phone as it can shoot impressive photos through its front camera by optimizing the key features of the face like skin tone, age, texture, gender and more. It also offers a couple of photo shooting modes like Natural Light, Studio Light and Monochrome. It also features Indianized AR stickers that can used while exchanges on social apps.
Face Access is one of the best of the features of the Vivo V9. Users can simply look at the Vivo V9 by unlocking through Face Access. It can be also used to open secured apps like messages, gallery and social apps. It can automatically reduce the volume of the ring tone when a user looks at the phone while receiving a call. For added security, the rear panel of the phone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo V9 features a dual camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for shooting exceptional photos with bokeh effect. Users can also focus on the photos that have been already shot by using the Shot Refocus feature. For shooting photos with sufficient brightness, users can make use of the Ultra HDR feature that superimposes three photos that are shot simultaneously.
The handset is loaded with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo that is customized with FunTouch OS that brings various kinds of features like game mode, picture-in-picture and split screen. The other features of the Vivo V9 include dual-SIM support, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, USB OTG and GPS
Vivo V9 Pricing and Availability
The Vivo V9 is priced at Rs. 22,990. Starting from today, the V9 is up for pre-orders until April 1 and then the smartphone would be available for buying. It can be bought in three colors like Pearl Black, Champagne Gold and Sapphire Blue.
