Vivo has today taken off the covers from India’s first smartphone that is enabled with under display fingerprint scanner – the Vivo X21. The handset was launched as Vivo X21 UD alongside the regular X21 phone in China in March. However, the company decided to sell only in-screen fingerprint scanner edition phone in India with Vivo X21 moniker. The smartphone is now available for buying through Flipkart and online store of Vivo India.
Vivo X21 Specifications and Features
The Vivo X21 that sports a 3D glass panel on its backside measures 154.45 x 74.78 x 7.37 mm and it weigh 156.2 grams. It houses a Super AMOLED display of 6.28 inches that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen is enabled with support for sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamut. The major highlight of the phone is the under-display fingerprint scanner which is located at the lower portion of the screen. It recommended to use the company provided screen protector for better user experience.
The Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6 GB of RAM are present under the hood of the Vivo X21. It features a native storage of 128 GB and it also includes a hybrid SIM slot for additional storage. It is packed with 3,200mAh battery with fast charging support.
The backside of the Vivo X21 features a vertically arranged dual camera setup that includes a 12-megpaixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a depth sensor of 5-megapixel. The dual rear cameras are equipped with features like AI HDR, Bokeh mode, Live Photo, AR stickers, Shot Refocus, slow-motion and 4K UHD video shooting. It is fitted with the same 12-megapixel camera at the front with f/2.0 aperture. Vivo has include features like AI Face Beauty, AI HDR, Bokeh mode and AR stickers for the front camera. The Vivo X21 also supports face unlock feature through the front camera.
The handset is preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo that is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The company has included some of its own features on the phone such as the AI Game Mode for disturbance gaming experience. The AI Smart Engine remembers the preferences of the user and accordingly arranges the settings. It can understand the user behavior pattern to enhance the power efficiency and for better management of apps that run in the background.
The Vivo X21’s AK376A Hi-Fi audio chip enables the phone to deliver enhanced sound experience. Its other features include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack.
Vivo X21 Pricing and Launch Offers
As mentioned above, the handset is already available for buying with a price tag of Rs. 35,990. The handset will be available in Black color edition only. The company is also providing Vivo XE710 hi-fi earphones for free to the buyers of X21.
