We know that what was supposed to be WePad is now changed to WeTab and the tablet which was about to reach the German customers by the end of June has now been pushed back by several months. Amazon has started alerting customers that the actual release date for the Neofonie WeTab is now expected to be September 19.
The reason for this huge delay is yet unknown, but if Neofonie actually wants to make this tablet a spectacular device then I think such a move will just damage the tablets reputation. We know that the tablet will be running on a custom version of Linux, and although there is no confirmation yet, there have been many reports which say that the tablet can also handle Google Android apps.
The Neofonie WeTab will feature an 11.6-inch multitouch display, a HDMI output, a 1.3-megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, 2 USB ports and will also support Adobe Flash. Well, although this tablet looks extremely promising we are yet to witness it true capabilities.

I wonder whether it really will appear on the market. It’s interface is seriously inferior to the touch experience of the iPad. Interestingly, too, if you go to Neofonie’s website you will see an early indication that the company is laying down an escape route. WeMagazin will be offered as a channel for German-language publishers to sell their publications through to iPad and other customers!
