The mouse you are looking at has a similar form factor and specs like any other mouse except for one. And wow that is indeed a big one. This new mouse by HP is a wi-fi enabled mouse, which HP claims to be the first in the world.
The mouse would not require any USB dongle to connect it with a computer. Instead it just needs a wi-fi connection and a Windows 7 equipped device to connect and the device can last upto an amazing 9 months. Wow! Its way longer than bluetooth or wireless mice can ever give.
The operating distance of the mouse is upto 30 feet which is like any other wireless mice. Besides it has a 1200 to 1600dpi resolution, five customizable buttons and a four-way tilt scroll wheel like any other ordinary mouse. HP Wi-fi mouse will retail for $49.99 from the next month.

NICE ONE
WILL IT WORK WHILE I AM ALREADY CONNECTED TO INTERNET THRU WIFI ??
aha, nice question. I believe should work
Okay, I have one query. If the mouse is gonna work on WiFi, then what’s with the 30-feet distance business?
Wait, WiFi does have range right?
Sure WiFis got range too… but 30ft for WiFi range is too short. Least range todays 802.11b supports is 120ft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi#Reach). 30ft is the range of mice that work on Bluetooth!
the rational mayb, More range = more power consumption. Bluetooth takes less power than WiFi, so perhaps when a WiFi is put in place of bluetooth, power is a bigger issue.
On a separate note, 30 ft isn’t a good enough distance? I have never used a wireless.
Wow .the WI-FI Mouse with 9 Month Battery Life Courtesy HP is really useful for me .I want to buy one soon.
