Did you know that there is a phone releasing every alternate day by the 100+ brands present in India. When PC and tablet sales are on a decline, the smartphone sales are constantly on rise. And the reason for the rise would be that the affordability of the phones have increased. The credit for this should be given to big brands like Motorola, Xiaomi, Asus, etc who offered great specs and made phones which were value for money.
Motorola which was acquired by Google offered phones which are value for money. Their Moto G was a greatest hit and still remains to be in some countries. The Moto E which followed it also was accepted by the audience as it was a Value for Money phone. What was remarkable is Motorola brought all these phones under the Online-Only sales model which helped them financially. It was then followed by Xiaomi, Lenovo, etc. Xiaomi which completely changed the perceptions of Chinese brands also gained a fan base in India quickly. They changed this perception by delivering phones with hardware equivalent to flagship phones of some brands, and that too at a much lesser cost.
On one hand, there are people ready to experiment with the new brands by buying phones of these companies, as it saves them a lot of money. On other hand, there are people who will only go with the big names and are ready to pay more for the established ones just because of the ‘Goodwill’ they’ve maintained.
So, what factors does one keep in mind while choosing their smartphone? Some prefer to stay loyal to a brand for years while some don’t mind switching. But, one also need to keep the after sales service in mind as many of the new entrants and some old ones too don’t have a wide support network.
Below is a short survey carried by PriceBaba.com to understand how many users are satisfied with their current smartphone brand and would their next choice be the same, too?
