It has been a long and excruciating wait if you use a Microsoft Lumia device to see the Windows 10 update. Dubbed as the most important update since the launch of the platform itself, there have been several delays in the rolling out of the update. However, after being delayed from the end of the last year to early February to Quarter 1 of 2016, looks like there is some light at the end of the dark tunnel.
The update to Windows 10 could begin rolling out as early as starting next week globally. The information comes from Vodafone Italy, who announced that they plan to drop the update for their carrier devices between 7th and 13th of March. This would mean that devices, that have been on the Windows Phone 8.1 version, including the likes of Lumia 1520, 930, 830 etc will now be getting the update.
Although, this set of news is only applicable for the Vodafone Italy devices, chances are that if the code is final and is being rolled out in one particular market, Microsoft would not have that much of an issue or cause a delay in bringing the update to the general and unlocked consumers.
Features like Edge browser, Cortana virtual assistant as well as the new UI changes are going to be a part of the Windows 10 update, making it oh so tasty and painfully long to wait.
