If the non-availability of Angry Birds for Windows Phone was the sole reason stopping you from getting hold of a WP7 powered phone, your wait will end later this year. That’s right Rovio will officially bring the much addictive game to the platform later this year according to a post on the Official Windows Phone Blog.
Apart from Angry Birds, there are a couple of other popular titles in the pipeline:
- Doodle Jump
- Plants vs Zombies
- Hydro Thunder Go
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I
- geoDefense.
All six of these games would be Xbox LIVE friendly, featuring achievements, leaderboards and more.
That said, with copy paste and a host of other updates expected soon, looks like 2011 might just turn out to be a good year for WP7.
Update:
Microsoft has just informed us that the Must Have Games program will be launching late this spring with a new title each week including, “Angry Birds,” PopCap’s “Plants vs Zombies,” “Hydro Thunder Go,” “Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I,” “geoDefense” and “Doodle Jump.” This means that while Angry Birds is certainly in the pipleline, the April 6 arrival of the same is not confirmed yet.
