Wipro, the IT services company from India has been a long time player in the PC making sector as well. The company has been in the business of making PC’s and notebooks for Indian and other markets for years now. The company has earlier today announced its foray in to the world of Ultrabooks with the launch of its new e.go “Aero” series of notebooks in India. The range currently consists of three models – available in different screen sizes and configurations.
The cheapest of the lot is the notebook that Wipro has christened the Aero Alpha. Designed to handle moderate workloads, this laptop is powered by Intel’s Core i processors and packs in a decent set of features. Next up is the 11.6 screen toting e.go Aero Book which is powered by a second generation Core i5 processor. The device is quite lightweight, handy and stylish and is directed at folks who need a stylish, small but powerful system to accompany them everywhere.
Next up in the e.go lineup is the Aero Ultra which Wipro claims to be an “engineering marvel”. This notebook comes enveloped in magnesium alloy and is quite thin at 19.3mm. The Aero Ultra gets a 14 inch display and tips the scales at 1.7 kg. It packs in 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard disk. On the software front, the notebook comes preloaded with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Starter. The notebook also gets an isolation keyboard and a large multi-gesture touch pad.
Wipro has priced the range between Rs 39,900 to Rs. 49,000. The final price might vary depending on the configuration.
