Mumbai based WishTel which made its foray in to tablets, netbooks and mobility solutions just over a year ago have come up with its latest product for the Indian market. It’s called the IRA “Capsule”, Wishtel is targeting the device as something that is neither a tablet nor a phablet and prefers calling this one a capsule. Here is why.
The IRA Capsule is a “convertible” product that can double up as both – a tablet, as well as a laptop thank to its detachable keyboard. Now the press release that has been sent to us doesn’t state this very clearly. But the keyboard seems to be part of the kit. We are awaiting a response from Wishtel on this front.
Let’s move on to the specifications now:
The device features a 10.1” Multi Touch capable 1024*768 pixel display and happens to be powered by a 1.6ghz dual core processor – ably supported with 1 GB worth of RAM. The 8000 Mah battery ensures 5,6 hours of battery life with heavy usage. Connectivity wise, the device supports bluetooth,3G& Wi-Fi. 3G support is handled using an inbuilt SIM card. The IRA Capsule also features dual cameras. The main camera happens to be a 5 megapixel unit while the second VGA camera is designed to handle video calling and Skype chats. The device is claimed to be HD capable and can playback full HD content on its 10 inch display. Supported file formats include mp4, AVI, MKV, DAT,PMP,MPEG, MPG, FLV and 3GP. The WishTel capsule also supports Flash 10.2 and HTML 5. The IRA Capsule supports microSD cards for memory expansion and can take cards of up to 23 Gb in capacity.
The device will be available in two color options – Black and Metal and has been priced at Rs. 16,000 in India.
