Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will be launching the 64GB variant of the Mi4 in India. The device will go on sale on 24th February, 2015 and is priced at Rs. 23,999. Xiaomi made this announcement through their official Twitter handle. The 16GB Mi4 will have its first sale on Flipkart, today at 2pm and it costs Rs. 19,999.
Bringing the 64GB model to India seems like a good move as during the launch of the Mi4 many users were disappointed by the lack of it. Also, its competitor, the OnePlus One sells with a standard 64GB internal storage for Rs. 21,999. In fact today the One too will have a flash sale on Amazon rather than the regular invite system which makes it difficult for a person to get one. It looks like this decision was taken to tempt users to buy their phone rather than the Mi4 which goes on sale later in the day.
There are rumours that after the Mi4, Xiaomi will get their the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro to India. These two devices were recently launched in the homeland China and again have been priced reasonably. Now that news of the 64GB is out, we wonder how many will purchase the 16GB model today. After all it’s a wait for a few days for more than double the storage.
The key specifications of the Mi4 are —
5 inch full HD display
2.5GHz Quad Core, Snapdragon 801 processor
3GB RAM
13 Megapixel rear camera, 8 Megapixel camera on the front
3080 mAh power battery
