Earlier this month, Xiaomi expanded its smart home portfolio in India with the launch of a robotic floor vacuum cleaner. The device is called as Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P. It was originally launched in China as a smart robot vacuum cleaner back in 2016. In India, the brand already offers security cameras, smart bulbs, air and water purifiers under its smart home category. Let’s find out what Xiaomi’s robot vacuum cleaner offers out of the box:
Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P specifications:
The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is a circular device with a brushless motor that provides 2,100Pa suction power. The device features a Laser Detection System and upgraded SLAM navigation that intelligently plans the route and map of the room. The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is equipped with 12 high precision sensors allowing the device to navigate accurately. In terms of cleaning, the smart vacuum cleaner offers two cleaning modes – Sweeping+Mopping and Sweeping-only mode. The later is meant for dry-cleaning the floor. Xiaomi claims that the device can simulate manual mopping with dual direction repeated wiping.
The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is equipped with 55ml trash bin and a 2-in-1 water tank. The later can be electronically controlled and has three gears of water dispensing modes along with a water clogging prevention mechanism.
On the hardware front, the Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is powered by a quad-core Cortex A7 chipset coupled with Mali 400 GPU. The device draws its power from a 3,200mAh battery unit. It is capable of going back to its charging point if the battery dies mid-way and automatically resume cleaning from the last breakpoint. The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P can be connected to the smartphone via the Mi Home app. It offers a range of features like remote control, real-time mapping, spot cleaning and more. Users can also create restricted zones so that the smart cleaner doesn’t clean areas such as carpets or washrooms. The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P features Wi-Fi connectivity and generates 70dB noise while operating.

The Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P is currently up for crowdfunding priced at Rs 17,999. The regular price of the device is Rs 24,999. Xiaomi will start shipping the smart cleaner from 15th September 2020.
