Update: The link which we have referred to is actually a month old as realized by us quite a bit later. Actually, the story was first reported by Phonescoop (who have since then pulled the post). We came to know of it from a Twitter retweet, and it was then we decided to carry it as at that time it was sort of important . (Blame us for being a tad in the hurry). As it turned out, It was a significant goof-up . We apologize for the trouble this might have caused for all Xperia X10 owners and prospective X10 buyers.
Guess what? Sony Ericsson has delayed the arrival of the much awaited Android 2.1 update to its Xperia X10 line up by a couple of weeks. The update, supposed to have been released by the end of October 2010 would now be seen a “couple of weeks” from now if we are to believe the blog post at the Sony Ericsson blog where this was announced.
- Xperia X10 will also get HD video recording with continuous auto focus
- New back up and restore application, with extended content back up
- 5 home screens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
- Social phone book which automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and shows when your friends are online
- Improved Bluetooth functionality with support for sending and receiving pictures, contacts.
- New backup and restore application with extended content back up
- Automatic synchronization of your contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book
- Improved ways of handling pictures, audio, text and numbers in your messages

This is a HUGE mistake by Sony E. The Xperia X10 could have bossed the Android segment if they had released it earlier on 2.1 – it still has staggering specs. What a pity!
A leg n two boats – Android and Windows Phone 7. They so need someone like Apple to buy them, but thats not happening
This I’m afraid is a case of bad reporting. There had been no notification from SE about further delays. The information you’ve read on the SE BLOG comes from a blogger using the same name as SE’s rep Rikard. If you restarted properly you’d notice all if the official posts from Rikard he has a pic of the X10 as his profile pic. Please research and report properly and stop scaremongering.
So, I am left to wonder how this unofficial blogger managed to post an official update from the official SE Blog?
@Rahul, Are you on drugs or want hits on your site?
Your source is one month old

I think you guys should do your homework better. This blog from SE is actually older then a month. It refers to the earlier delay pushing the update back form september to october. According to SE’s product launch blog the update is finished and right now they’re awaiting google’s approvel. You guys scared the hell out of me letting me think i had to wait even longer. #Fail
Yep, and if this wouldnt be bad enough, people just copy and paste news without checking any further.
We solved that on this blog and you guys on this tech blog should really try to make more quality work, too.
I rather wait for some news a bit and can trust my source, than getting quick false crap.

There is so much cr*p being wrote these days it’s bloody unbelievable – literally.
People get whipped up into a frenzy over the update, which won’t be available for branded phones for another few weeks at least.
Then in the same breadth, jump on the any news there might be a delay.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!!
Just a quiet word, gentlemen: you are all entitled to your opinion, but I fail to see what gives you the right to abuse someone who has posted an entry. Just because you disagree with the author does not give you the right to use all kinds of sundry adjectives to describe him. A little civility, please.
This article is Wrong and quoteing the blog entry from september.
Folks , we have updated the blog post. As correctly pointed out, the blog entry was a month old and we apologize for the trouble this might have caused. Of course, we’d be more careful next time. This time though, this was a major goof up.
