Yahoo services including ‘search’ would be tied to all Samsung mobile from May 2010. Yahoo Inc has inked a deal with Samsung to make this possible, and this is certainly a bold move by Yahoo towards the mobile market. Suffering heavily to Google in the internet race, Yahoo has certainly hit the accelerator here. While the iPhone love made Google search touch the skies in the mobile market, tying-up with the second largest cellphone maker in the world Yahoo makes a point. Given that Samsung sells more phones outside the US than Apple does, this gives Yahoo experience a certain global variety here. Samsung certainly wouldn’t mind offering the Yahoo Experience on its devices against some $$, and we wonder if finally Apple would also make a similar move anytime soon?
No details of what money exchanged hands is available, however Yahoo would benefit immensely with even the Android based Samsung handsets now ready to offer a whole Boquet of Yahoo services like mail, search, finance, flickr, messenger, weather etc. Given the open source nature of Android, manufactures are open to bundle any service provider they want (well the idea came from Google itself actually).
