LG has announced that it has tied up with YouTube so that users of its upcoming 3D enabled smartphone, the Optimus 3D would be able to upload 3D content from their phones, directly on to YouTube. Until now, 3D videos were mostly uploaded by major Hollywood studios. With the Optimus 3D, LG has provided consumers an opportunity to create and share their own 3D content on the web.
The Optimus 3D will be unveiled at the MWC that kicks of today at Barcelona, Spain. The phone would be available in the second quarter of 2011. ThIs device, mind you, is the first phone that supports creation and playback of 3D content.
