When it comes to hardcore gaming, every gamer needs a mouse that fits more than perfectly for him. But there is a group of people that can’t find that perfect mouse easily. The guys I am talking about here are left handed gamers. They often have to use sub-standard left-handed mouse or just switch to a hardcore gaming mouse built for right-handed guys. Do you lefties feel left out? Well, not any more.
Razor, the hardware manufacturer known for its gaming peripherals, has introduced a gaming mouse built for lefties. The mouse called DeathAdder Left Hand Edition boasts of all the features that a normal gaming mouse has. These are 1000Hz ultrapolling, always-on mode, 3500dpi sensitivity, and on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. Along with the left and right click buttons, the mouse consists of a scroller and two programmable buttons. It can track accurately at 60-120 inches per second with 15G of acceleration.
DeathAdder Left Hand Edition is available for $59.99.
The God of War (GOW) series reaches its climax in a few hours with the Spartan warrior Kratos invading Olympus, the abode of the Greek Gods. Just in case you have been on a planet where gaming has been banned, the series of games revolves around a series of battles between Kratos and a number of legendary Greek Gods, including the mighty Zeus himself. Of course, gamers all over the world are already lining up to get copies of the game and figure out what happens in the climax.
With the game being released on the PS3, one can be assured of cutting edge graphics and terrific effects as Kratos smashes his way through Olympus. However, one really wonders if these alone are going to be enough to make the game a huge success. This may sound harsh but, all said and done, the GOW series has largely been a hack and slash affair with some doses of puzzle-solving thrown in. What’s more, three years have elapsed since God of War 2 was released and three years is a very long time in gaming. The period has seen games like GTA 4 ,Unchartered 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Devil May Cry 4 and Dante’s Inferno pretty much redefine what gamers expect from their consoles. GOW’s exceptional graphics (more…)

One of the many impressive views at the VJTI annual festival – Technovanza was the Rubik’s cube competition. Endorsed by the World Cube association the competition at Technovanza saw rubik’s enthusiasts from all over India going head to head. Having seen our friend Varun perform at Barcamp Mumbai 6 and later at Startup Saturday Mumbai, I was sure that he would be the show stopper out there. But then there were these magical kids who managed to show us such blackmagic that I got to say this – Your got to see this, to believe it! The videos below would give you an idea of what we have witnessed over the weekend: (more…)

The iPad won’t be out on sale until March 2010. The one with Stephen had been given by Apple to promote the device.
Although this one is a regular at the Techfest since years. Till date this has been one of the most popular of all captivating the audience and keeping them engaged from dusk till dawn. Like every year these robotic demons were placed in a glass cage, not to protect them but to save the audience from their destructive capabilities. The external powered robots competed against each other for a limited time in which they had to destroy the other. This year the panel of judges were from Robosoft. Each contest had the crowd going wild with enthusiasm and taking teams, cheering them.
Below is a video of one of the exciting contest. (more…)
Another regular like the Full throttle, this one event has caught the imagination of the IITians. They seem to be not only enjoying it but also getting addicted to it at the same time. Probably one of the reasons they progressed it from just gliding these planes to using motors and propellers to fly them. You must have seen people flying these custom made planes which are normally very clumsy and do not have great controls. But to my surprise the ones used in this competition had amazing controls and full credit goes to the flyers of these planes. They performed breathtaking maneuvers enthralling the audience. I must admit that even I was captivated by these high flying planes and was lost in my own world looking at them. We managed to get a detailed video of one of the high flyers who did very well in the competition and is one of the (more…)
This event is one of the main features of Techfest and like every year this time as well it attracted huge amount of crowd in gigantic proportions. The crowd bustling in, exciting vibes and the resultant chaos and noise; it just seemed like other times until something not very usual happened. We had a female compering the Technoholix (Day 1) and that’s a first we saw in our three years of coverage of the fest. It certainly got the crowd very excited. Unfortunately she wasn’t really prepared and shockingly was reading her lines from a sheet of paper (at snails pace I must say) much to the disappointment of the audience.
Now the audience (so did we) had a lot of expectations from the Activ8 3D show. But it ended up rather being more of a 2D show much to the chagrin of the crowd which had already got uneasy due to the delayed start of the event (it started at 8.25 instead of the usual 7.15). An interesting character in the form of a disciple of Baba Ramdev kept the audience occupied for some time (this character delivered a lot of 3 idiots dialogue and gave a brief about the lives of engineers at the same time) which had started to grow weary after the long wait and the show was proving to be way below their expectations.
Come in M.A.D mountain bike stunt team. They not only managed to cheer up the crowd but also got them going again (more…)
Have a look again at this PC? Don’t you think they forgot the keyboard. Well, actually there is a keyboard, it’s a transparent keyboard that is looking almost invisible due to its dark biege background.
