HTC is on a roll. India can expect as many as 7 HTC devices rolling out over the next on month and that includes the HTC Flyer (Evo View as it may be branded in India). The Incredible S went on sale recently and after a rough patch, HTC is showing some momentum in India.
Another ‘S’ from HTC is coming up soon. Our source confirms that the HTC Wildfire S would go on sale in India early next week. The Wildfire S was announced at MWC first and is the successor to one of the bestsellers, the original Wildfire. This brings a specs bump bump but remains priced in the same range. A 5MP camera, Gingerbread and a much needed upgrade to the screen resolution.
Apparently our source has seen the devices in action (including the HTC tablet) and HTC is gearing up for the launch. The source goes on to say that the pricing would be under Rs 16000 (and probably a little under Rs 15000 as well in some states).
And if you are excited about the Facebook phones (Chacha and Salsa), hold on a bit. We will have the details soon. For now, countdown for the Wildfire S.
Update: Our agent just updated us that the Wildfire S should be here anytime between 5-10th May. We are tracking this, more updates to flow.
Update: This one mis fired. Our source had a hands-on in India, but the launch is said to be for June now :(. Salsa / ChaCha are coming up this month though.
