HTC Wildfire S: New Low End Android Handset Arrives

HTC has along with the HTC Desire S and the Incredible S also announced the launch of its new low end offering in the form of the HTC Wildfire S. A successor to the existing Wildfire, the device features an HVGA (480×320) 3.2 inch display – up from the 320×240 display on the Wildfire. It is claimed to the smallest phone HTC has made measuring just 10.13cm long and 5.94cm wide.

The phone gets a 5 megapixel shooter – impressive for a compact device like this one. The phone also runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread which means you are on to the Gingerbread bandwagon at a fraction of the cost of other, more expensive devices.

    • Yes, yesterdays high end is todays low end. iPhone had this resolution in 2007, screen size is 3.2. This would be the new entry level smartphone.

ps: Gingerbread sounds like the reason for the 512 RAM.

  • Okay, now if you start comparing everything to the Apple products, lemme remind you iPad has 250M ram 🙂 Comparing it to it’s predecessor, the Wildfire, this fone is definitely not low end!

    • Well I can cite better examples as well, the best that came to my mind was the 1st gen iPhone. But lets boil down to. This is an entry level smartphone, I am looking at the industry. Of course you have your opinions and that may differ from ours 🙂

      Cheers

  • Agreed 🙂 Oh By the way I have used the 1st Gen Wildfire for quite a while the one with 384M ram and was not able to run Angry Birds well, lets hope the new one does and I am sure It will 😀
